In the Fall of 2025, we partnered with Girls Inc to start a book club in their Rising Leaders Program, a program designed to help middle school girls between 6th and 8th grades build their leadership and advocacy skills. We engaged several girls in reading over the span of three months with the book Front Desk by Kelly Yang. At every monthly session, we conducted writing and art activities, as well as facilitated discussions on the reading. At the end, Kelly Yang even filmed a video for our club to thank them for reading the book and tell them to never stop reading!

GFB x Girls Inc Summer Writing Workshops
In the Summer of 2025, we partnered with Girls Inc to conduct writing workshops in their Project Accelerate Program, which provides mentorship to young women of color from low income families and equips them with the skills to achieve long term professional success in the face of gender inequality in the workplace. We worked with rising juniors and seniors in several 1.5 hour workshops to help them craft their personal narrative through writing and reading to be used for college, job, and internship applications. We also implemented female empowerment ideas through our workshops and utilized writing samples and videos from prominent, inspiring female authors.
