Picking Daisies on Sundays by Liana Cincotti is a young adult contemporary romance. I initially wanted to read this book because I thought that its cover was very pretty! However, I was pleasantly surprised when I read the book because I found that the title wasn’t the only beautiful thing about it as the writing was just as beautiful!

Synopsis:

The story follows Daniella “Dani” who lives in New York driven by her passion to be a fashion designer. She unexpectedly reunites with her high school best friend and long-time crush, Levi Coldwell after a heartbreak and four years of no communication. Levi comes to Dani with a strange request, to be his fake girlfriend. What begins as a fake-dating scheme to help Levi impress his ex’s mother quickly unravels into something deeper and more vulnerable.

Review:

Although I read this book a while ago I remember all of the things I felt when reading this. The writing is absolutely charming and Liana does an amazing job with writing the grief and regret shown in this book! The romance felt so real and I found myself genuinely laughing, blushing, and rooting for these characters. I remember my favorite part of the book, and “twist” if you will, was when the cover of the book came to life within the plot of the story. I think this is genius writing and makes an exciting re-read as you catch on things you may have missed the first time reading! There was a slightly frustrating part in the book when there was a bit of miscommunication between Dani and Levi, however I feel when we got the reasoning behind the insecurity and fear causing this miscommunication it made the two characters coming together even more rewarding! Overall, this is a beautiful book and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a sweet fluffy romance with a bit of angst!
